barrientos RYAN identified a redevelopment strategy for this gracious old red brick building which included the addition of 24 large, two-story loft spaces to provide a unique living opportunity in a fantastic location. Immersed in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill, this new project is located on Broadway, directly across the street from the new Light Rail station, between Olive and Denny.
This character building adds interest and diversity to the existing neighborhood, and barrientos RYAN found it important to preserve the original building. The project was designed with a strong focus on an adaptive reuse scheme while preserving as much of the historic structure as possible. Features include expansive, light-filled loft residences with floor-to-ceiling glass, a European style, private inner courtyard and a rooftop deck. The commercial space was also upgraded to provide a more contemporary setting for prospective tenants.
Many of the lofts are 900 to 1,100 square feet with the ability to be two-bedroom units. Residents can customize their own spaces in these raw, industrial-style lofts.
