This unique historic building was constructed in 1906 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The project involved renovating King Street Station into a mixed-use building; Amtrak’s passenger rail station is housed on the first floor, while commercial office space is located on the second and third floors. The completed station functions as a major hub for the regional commuter rail transportation system as well as a link between the north-south Cascades passenger rail line, while reflecting the local character and heritage of Seattle.

barrientos RYAN was hired by WSDOT to develop a master development plan for this building and to develop a structure for the redevelopment that included a public-private partnership component.
