Size: 202 residential units 70,000 SF
Completion: 1999
This project included the construction of 202 units of independent apartment-style housing for students attending Seattle University. The project was driven initially by SU’s need to build 400 new parking stalls for the new law school that was being built on campus.
Maria Barrientos worked with Seattle University to develop a feasibility analysis and market study. Together they were able to drive down the expense of building and operating the parking garage by adding student housing units in the floors above. The project was funded with tax-exempt bonds issued by the State Housing Finance Commission.
Seattle University hired Lorig Associates to act as the developer for the non-profit owner of the project. Maria Barrientos acted as the Partner-in-Charge and the Project Manager until the project financing closed.
