Tubman Center for Health & Freedom

barrientosRYAN is serving as the development project manager to develop the Tubman Center for Health & Freedom, a transformative healthcare model by and for the community.  The Tubman Center for Health & Freedom was founded by six black and indigenous community members to address health and wellness from both systemic and clinical approaches. The project goal is to create a new state-of-the-art space for healing and community connection. 

Located near the Rainier Beach Light Rail station, The Tubman Center for Health & Freedom will create a place of joy where generational health is promoted and where all patients are welcomed for care.  The facade wraps the Center, drawing inspiration from Harriet Tubman’s shawl.  Healing suites, an apothecary cafe and hydrotherapy spa create welcome environments within the Center, rooting the Tubman experience in the site’s natural surroundings.
