Size: Approximately 80,000 SF to include YouthCare Education Facilities, Administrative Offices, and Retail and approximately 100 low income residential units
Completion: Targeted early 2023
barrientos RYAN is serving as the owner’s representative for YouthCare for a joint development with Capitol Hill Housing to create a mixed-use project in the Pike/Pine Conservation Core, including affordable housing and an education and employment academy for young people who have experienced homelessness. This site is located at the intersection of Broadway and Pine Street and includes the three parcels on the southwest corner adjacent to the Oddfellows building. This development will provide a unique opportunity to support young people who have experienced homelessness to achieve lasting stability and add 100 affordable housing units to the neighborhood.
YouthCare’s education and employment programming will focus on supporting young people to overcome barriers, build technical and leadership skills, and step on to a career pathway that leverages their potential. The first three floors of this building will be dedicated to services that enable young people to discover their passion and prepare to thrive in the regional economy. These classrooms will encourage diverse learning styles and help to build confidence with each student scholar.
The proposed project is an eight-story building, approximately 85’ in height and 80,000-sf and will house three levels of YouthCare educational and counseling programs, and approximately 100 units of low income housing.
